Getting shifts covered

When getting one of your shifts covered there are a few important things to consider.

The roster has usually been built with each person in each shift for a specific reason. This means that not all people will be suitable to cover your shift. If you are unaware of who is eligible to cover your shift reach out to your manager.

• It is your responsibility to get your own shift covered.

• If you cannot get your own shift covered you may ask your manager for assistance, but they do not have to assist if they do not have the time.

• If you cannot find cover for your shift your are expected to show up for your shift. Missed shifts are an automatic warning.

• If you do not have a valid medical reason or emergency you may not bail out of a shift on short notice.
