Safety Speech

Our safety speech is one of the most crucial pieces of information to get across to guests. The safety speech you will learn below is the generic, one-size-fits-all speech. If you are speaking just to kids, or just to adults, or other various demographics there is other information that you will want to emphasize. Start with this one and then as you get used to it you can start altering it for specific crowds.

Generic Example

Hi guys, first thing, it’s only one person at a time on the trampolines. We have an airbag around the corner, make sure to avoid landing on your head or your belly. If you have been to SITE in Queenstown, this airbag is a bit more firm so try a jump into it before trying any new tricks. Take your time on the super tramps as they feel much different to the other trampolines. Slowly build height and don’t stop all in one bounce. We have the spring floor all through here as you can see, if you’re jumping off of a trampoline onto it, make sure that you check that nobody will be in your way before jumping. Make sure to warm up before you get going, there’s a drinking fountain just behind you and toilets at the bottom of the stairs. My name is *Your Name*, if you want help on any tricks feel free to reach out. Have fun!

Key Points)

  • One at a time
  • Don’t land on your head or stomach in airbag
  • Be careful on super tramps and don’t stop all in one bounce
  • Warm up before bouncing
  • Use mats and ask for help (give them your name as well)
  • Watch out for other people on the spring floor – look before jumping off the tramp
  • Show where the drinking fountain and toilets are

If they’ve rented a board or skis

  • No use on super tramps
  • Take breaks as it is more tiring than just jumping

For adults

  • Emphasize warming up. Most injuries happen in the first or last 10 minutes of the session, especially with adults.
  • Let them know the super tramps can catch you out, you have to respect them or else they will launch you.
  • When stopping on super tramps, do it over a few bounces rather than all at once

For kids

  • Emphasize one at a time
  • Emphasize looking out for other people

For toddlers

  • Tell parents that they can go on the tramps with their kids but put down a mat and keep bouncing low
  • Ask parents to keep an eye on their kids.
