If you don’t have time or don’t know how to reply to an email
One of the biggest potential problems with multiple people using the same email is unfinished conversations becoming lost. To avoid this, make sure that you mark any email that you have not replied to as unread. This is essential for making sure that people are not forgotten about.
Click the triple dots in the top right of the email thread, then click ‘Mark as unread’.
If it is a chain of emails, you can mark a specific email in the chain as unread, this will need to be done in many situations. The process is the same. Just go to the email within the chain that you cannot reply to, then click the triple dots, then ‘Mark as unread from here’.
If you have replied to a message but you know that the conversation is not finished, the email needs to be marked with an ‘in progress’ star. You can do this by clicking on the star outline next to the email in the inbox. If you keep clicking through the star it will change to different options. In the screenshot below, you can see the email that is still in progress with the green star.
If the conversation is complete, and there is no reason to believe the guest will need any more information, continue clicking the star until it turns into a green checkbox. This marks the conversation as finished. Do not change the email to a green checkbox until you are certain the conversation has come to an end.
